Donald Trump

Everyone knows that Donald Trump is contemplating running for presidency. He thinks that America needs a business man to run the country, and he thinks that person is him. He is already trying to be better than Obama. He has even gone as far as dissing president Obama by asking for his birth certificate on national television. Do you think that Trump would be a good president? Why or why not?

I do not think that Donald Trump would be a good president for our country.Although, Trump is somewhat true that we need more of a business man to run the country. I do not think he would be that business man to run the country the right way. I think that he would become corrupt in some way. He seems like the kind of man that would become too obsessed with power.

Week 16

Some of the biggest news was made in the U.S. this past weekend. Osama Bin Laden has been killed. Americans everywhere are celebrating the big news. However, Americans feel that they should be given proof of his death. They want to see pictures and videos of the killing of Osama. The White House has just released that they are not releasing any pictures of Osama dead. Do you think that this is reasonable?

http://www.cnn.com/2011/POLITICS/05/04/bin.laden.photo.release/index.html

I definitely think that this is reasonable. Just because we are happy that one of the biggest enemies of America is dead, does not mean that we need to go over board. Americans need to draw the line at some point. Even though it would make some Americans happy to see the pictures, we need to think about what other countries will think of us. We especially need to think about Pakistan and all of the other Al Qeada members. I don't that would help our situation with them at all.

Week 15

The Royal Wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton is being held this Friday April 29, 2011. All sorts of preparations are being taken care of in order to get ready for the big day. It is said that the wedding is going to be one of the biggest gatherings in a long time. This is one of the most important days in history for some people. Every news station will be covering the event trying to get the first glimpse of the action. Do you think that this wedding should be treated as such an important event in other countries other than England?

Week 14

This past weekend, there were severe tornadoes that swept through the south east of the United States. Over 200 tornadoes were sighted in south and mid-atlantic states. North Carolina was hit the hardest. There were 43 tornadoes that swept through the state and killed 22 people. The overall death rate has reached 45 people. Should there be a better way to prepare for storms like these?

http://mxp.blogs.cnn.com/2011/04/18/200-tornado-reports-more-severe-weather-tuesday/?iref=allsearch

I definitely think there should be a better way for people to prepare for storms like these. There should be a better way for people to know how soon a tornado is away from them. This disaster should show everyone that we should take more action in protecting people from tornadoes. There should be more places for people to hide. The weather has been so crazy lately, so we should take action now.

Week 12

Gas prices across the nation have been shocking Americans everywhere. The national average of gas is $3.81 a gallon. The gas prices have been up 24% at the start of this year. It is said that gas prices could be $4 by July of this year. This is one of the highest gas prices the U.S. has seen.

http://amfix.blogs.cnn.com/2011/04/15/shell-oil-president-were-going-to-need-significant-efficiency-gains-in-energy-usage/?iref=allsearch

I agree with the statement that the gas prices will continue to rise. Gas is in such a high demand right now. With the fighting going on in the middle east, it doesn't make the situation any better. Since the middle east has a large amount of the oil, it raises the gas prices. Because of this, it is causing scientists to try and find another source of fuel for automobiles.

Week 10

Japan has been faced with disaster this past week. They have seen an earthquake and a tsunami destroy their country. Now, Japan's nuclear reactors are blowing up and sending radiation waves through cities. People and everything in its path are being affected by the radiation. The third reactor was said to blow up soon, but now they are saying that it is cooling down.

http://www.cnn.com/2011/WORLD/asiapcf/03/20/japan.nuclear.reactors/index.html?hpt=T2

I don't really think that Japan will be able to completely cool down the reactor. I don't think that anyone can control a nuclear reactor after an earthquake and a tsunami have struck it. Japan might be able to cool it down some, but it will probably heat back up. It also says that they are building an 8-foot wall to protect the people from the reactor if it were to explode.  I don't think the wall will do that much if it were to explode. They should use more protection than that if they want to be safe.

Week 9

There was a massive 8.9 earthquake and a 30-foot tsunami following it this past Thursday. Everything in the tsunami's path was completely destroyed, including millions of lives. The death toll is exceeding 10,000 and more bodies are found every hour. Japan has sent out a distress call seeking for help, considering this is the toughest crisis since World War two.

Should every "well off" country try to help out as much as they can?

I most definitely think that they should help out. It is huge when an earthquake and tsunami that big hit a highly populated part of Japan. Countries like the United States, Britain, and France should be the first countries to respond. They should do everything they can to help Japan out. We would definitely want someone to help us if this ever happened in the U.S. No one would want their country to be abandoned in a time of need. It is up to the world to come together and help out Japan in their hour of need.
